Program faculty holds a minimum of an LPN license
The CNA program consists of 30 hours of classroom work. The class is instructed from the ISDH Nurse Aide Curriculum. Once the classroom work has ceased, the clinical portion of the program begins. The clinical portion is 45 hours inside of a skilled nursing facility that allows for the students to put to use the skills they learned in class. After the full 75 hours has been completed, the student is allowed to work as a CNA until they are tested by the state. Once they pass the written and skills exam they will be placed on the licensing verification website. If they fail they will have to re-test.
As a pre-requisite and ISDH requirement,each applicant must complete a criminal background screening, a pre-math test and a pre-English test to ensure their ability to read and write.
We prefer that all applications are received at least two weeks before class start date.
