The instructors for this program are graduates from the apprenticeship program with over 6 years of electrical experience.
The program is designed for the individual wishing to gain electrical experience as a full time student in post-secondary education. The complete program consists of 20weeks/560classroom, hands on training and certification courses. Students in this course will not only receive the IEC curriculum but will also get real world experience making them more marketable to future contractors. Graduates can say not only that they"know how" but can show that they"have done". This program is full time. Graduates will recieve continuing education and career counseling from instructors after the program as needed. Additional information is at the website. www.iec-indy.org. Graduats hands on experience will include, but are not limited too, resedential install, Troubleshooting, comercial install, conduit bending EMT, conduit bend PVC, conduit bending IMC, wire pulling, industrial motor control, Transformer work, grounding and bonding, OSHA 110, First Aid, Cadwelding, and basic finacial planing.
There is a basic math and reading comprehension test given.

The Independent Electrical Contractor's Foundation provides a Scholarship for all chapters every year. The Foundation reviews applications and determines who it is granted to depending on need, community involvement, and intentions while in school. The application can be presented upon request.
