Our instructors are Expanded Functions Dental Assistants and previously were CDA's. We also have RDH's on staff.

Program Description:

Our program is a twelve weeks hands on dental assisting with dental radiology course. The course materials are pearson and have power point presentations. Students have three dental operatories to practice hands on instructions. Each students has a typodont to practice all labs and instruction. We have a fully functioning dental sterilization area and students will have their cpr certification when finishing the course. The radiology portion of the course is approved by the State of Indiana Radiology board and students will qualify to take the DANB RHS exam once they finish the course material. There is a required externship of 35 hours.

51.0601 Dental Assisting/Assistant A program that prepares individuals to provide patient care, take dental radiographs (x-ray photographs), prepare patients and equipment for dental procedures, and discharge office administrative functions under the supervision of dentists and dental hygienists. Includes instruction in medical record-keeping, general office duties, reception and patient intake, scheduling, equipment maintenance and sterilization, basic radiography, pre- and post-operative patient care and instruction, chairside assisting, taking tooth and mouth impressions, and supervised practice.

Students must be 18 years of age and High school graduates to attend the program.
