Hope Training Academy (HTA) is a program of Video Game Palooza (VGP), a 501c3 educational nonprofit organization. HTA is dedicated to helping end the cycle of poverty for families by introducing and offering under and unemployed adults important certifications in the area of computer and business-based careers. In 2020, HTA received recognition as a group sponsor and training provider for 3 Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAP) for computer and IT technicians, network specialists, and cybersecurity specialists through the US Department of Labor. The purpose of the apprenticeship program is to develop skilled technology professionals who are looking for careers in Cybersecurity, IT Specialization and Support, or Network Server Administration. The program fills a need in the workforce community for specialized and skilled workers and a need in the community for jobs with living, sustainable wages.
Standard knowledge of PCs and Windows Operating System and ideally have basic network and security knowledge.All programs are open to those who can benefit from the training offered by Hope Training Academy. Prospective students are invited to visit the school orientation and discuss their training needs, career goals and objectives with our staff. A students ability to benefit from specific courses is determined by interviewing and assessment testing.
Students can be enrolled and admitted within one week of course start dates.
A portion of our students are referred to our program by other industry partners with well-defined eligibility requirements. We also have individuals and organizations that provide scholarships to eligible students for tuition costs. Finally, our 501c3 foundation raises funds to provide scholarships to students. We conform to well-defined industry guidelines to determine who should receive financial aid. Eligibility is determined by in-person interviews, application, and basic testing.
