Graduation from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or an otherwise recognized training entity (e.g., hospital-based program) in the specialty field or subject area in which they teach. Additionally, the faculty member possesses two (2) years of occupational (i.e., practical) experience in the subject field in which they teach; OR ii. A minimum of three (3) years of job-related training and experience, as described above, for those instructors who are not graduates from an accredited program in the field in which they teach.Instructors of LMR didactic and lab classes must be registered Radiographic Technicians with prior work experience in a laboratory setting
Objective: This diploma program is designed to provide quality career education and training in Limited Medical Radiography. Upon completion of the program graduates will be prepared to sit for the Kentucky Limited Scope Radiography exam, through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy. The Licensed Limited Medical Radiographer plays an important role in the medical team by providing quality radiographs for a physician or radiologist. LMR specific responsibilities include adjusting radiographic equipment for specific examinations and placing the patient in the correct position and processing the radiograph. Graduates will be prepared to seek positions in a physicians’ office as a Limited Medical Radiographer. All applicants will be required to submit a clear criminal background check prior to entering classes. Students are required to submit a clear TB skin test, hepatitis B, varicella (chicken pox), tdap (tetanus), and MMR immunization prior to starting clinical.
Applicants must be a high school graduate or have a GED. Applicants must submit to a background check. ATa may decline admission to applicants who, in ATA's sole opinion, may have difficulty finding employment in their field of applications as a result fo issues disclosed on their background check.
Two weeks prior to the start of class. There are 5 starts annually.Â
