The organization itself, including the chapters, are accredited by the Department of Labor. Our instructors all work in the electrical field, business owners, teachers, etc. All incoming instructors are required to go through IEC National's Instructor Training Curriculum.
This program provides the knowledge needed to navigate, and understand the practices required by the NEC. Students will also learn electrical code and theory to help them understand why a code exists. The understanding of basic theory preparesstudents to size conductors and conduits appropriately. Students will also recieve hands on assements of a variety of electrical install. Student willpractice instalation of AC/DCmotor controls. Upon graduation, and 8000 hour of work experience students will recieve a journeymen certificate.
-18 years or older- High School Diploma/GED/Completed High School Transcript- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
Registration for the 2022-2024school year will be held from April 1st- July 31st, with classes beginning in August. Appointments must be made in advance at [email protected] or (317) 562 - 1102.Appointments can be made Monday - Friday, 10 am - 4 pm, or as requested if special circumstances occur.
The Independent Electrical Contractor's Foundation provides a Scholarship for all chapters every year. The Foundation reviews applications and determines who it is granted to depending on need, community involvement, and intentions while in school. The application can be presented upon request.
