We look for instructors who meet the following criteria:College Degree: Potential instructors must have a Bachelors Degree or better. Experience: Potential instructors are preferably published writers, and must have paid teaching and hands-on professional experience with the course subject matter. Excellent Written Communication Skills: Potential instructors must be able to provide our students with written course materials of the highest quality. Since most communication on the Internet is done in writing, students expect our instructors to write clearly and correctly. Excellent People Skills: We look for instructors who love to help others. We look for instructors who are humble, eager to assist those in need, and respectful of the thoughts and beliefs of others.
A program that prepares individuals, under the supervision of veterinarians, laboratory animal specialists, and zoological professionals, to provide patient management, care, and clinical procedures assistance as well as owner communication. Includes instruction in animal nursing care, animal health and nutrition, animal handling, clinical pathology, radiology, anesthesiology, dental prophylaxis, surgical assisting, clinical laboratory procedures, office administration skills, patient and owner management, and applicable standards and regulations. Feed animals and monitor whether they're eating. Bathe pets when necessary. Exercise the animals. Assist veterinarians and vet technicians with lab work. Clean, sterilize, and maintain kennels, operating rooms, examining rooms, cages, and surgical equipment. Comfort and restrain pets during examinations and care. Provide first aid to pets in an emergency, stabilizing them until a doctor can take over. Administer medications to pets. Perform some clerical duties.
There are noprerequisites to take this course. A high school diploma or equivalent isrecommended but not essential.
Class is a rolling class, meaning that it starts at various times during the year. The registrant simply would need to register in time for the particular date that they wish to start the class.
